“Books. Cats. Life is Good.”

The Secret Safe Books CEO, (Cat Executive Officer) Remus on his favorite rug.

Ever wonder why so many bookstores have a resident cat?

Well, the question has certainly given me paws. My observations tell me: cats appreciate the quietude of a book nook, of a lap with the roof-like covering of an open book in the hands of their pet parent. And I can speak from firsthand experience,  a warm "bookrest" sending out blissful purring vibes is simply the best.

Remus the CEO spends quality time with me (Kara, co-owner/operator of Secret Safe Books).

Here's our CEO supervising as I wrap a Secret Safe Book for shipping to a customer:

Remus the CEO demands quality.

All through the ages, cats have been in and around literature, enriching our lives in stories and while they softly pad around our home libraries and 2nd-hand bookstores. I'd like to close with a quote by Oscar Wilde: “With freedom, books, flowers, and the moon, who could not be happy?”
